Adieu to the Rugby World Cup 2015

So after a month of sporting highs and the lows of being knocked out, the Antipodean Giants fought out the RWC 2015 final in gladiatorial splendour. Congrats to the All Blacks and commiserations to all our Auzzie friends. We in the UK can celebrate that the way our weather behaved itself, in general, ending in balmy autumnal golden glory.
I have had some added pleasures with the series. We were lucky to get to the Ireland-Italy game. But there were bonus weekends as we were called in by our rugby-mad daughter and son-in-law for special duties. They attend the Stoop regularily en famille with their pair of developing rugby fans. However, the RWC2015 rules required everyone attending to have tickets, including as stated in the T&Cs, 'babes in arms'. So special grandparenting duties called for.
Today, finals day, was really special as they set off to Twickenham and I was entrusted to take care of the babes on Halloween afternoon. The local park was hosting a Trick or Treat event, great fun. All the little ones in fancy dress and painted faces enjoying the fun and fresh air. Witches, Warlocks, Pirates, elegant Vampires and several Dragons accompanied Mums, Dads, Grans and Granddads enjoying the park with their ghosts and ghouls. What better way to enjoy the crisp autumnal sunshine.
No need for overcoats this day. Children in fleeces, me in my Attune fir scoop neck top and berry waterfall cardigan, all in keeping with the tones of the Fall, and breathable comfort of Tencel jersey.
