Memories from Marie Curie Walk 10 2013

Just recieved the email below from Marie Curie. It brings back memories of another great night with Team Attune at Walk 10, Stormont.

We love this event, all 10 kilometers quickly disappear as we stroll and chat.  We catch up on news and gossip and make new friends.

Everyone has their reason for being there, including all from Attune.   But we remain inspired by the spirit of those celebrating the memories of close loved ones and those at Marie Curie who provide such incredible, unstinting care and support.

The Marie Curie Team mention picnic baskets in the email.  We received great accolade from some of the Marie Curie events team about our effort in organising the Prettiest Picnic.  Well we are Attune and we do put in some effort to ensure we provide a posh picnic.  It's the least we can do  to our thank our superb team for their sterling effort supporting Marie Curie.

We have standards. Proper finger food on picnic plates, served from wicker baskets.  Drinks in proper picnic stem glasses and napkins, of course.  The pièces de résistance were our tealights, in pretty lace pots, beautiful functional essential lighting -  the party does start in the dark.

We welcomed a number of new members to Team Attune this year and everyone is committed to joining us in 2014.  We'll be sending out our invitation again over next summer and look forward to welcoming new friends to Stormont.  If you can't make it there we'll let you know about other venues.

Hello Clare

The summer might feel like a distant memory, and your walking shoes and picnic basket may be packed away for another year, but we wanted to say one final thank you for taking part in this year’s Walk Ten. Take a look at our highlights video which we've put together and re-live the amazing summer we enjoyed.

We’re thrilled to tell you that we have had our biggest year to date, with almost 13,000 people taking part. So far you've helped us raise just over £700,000, which will pay for 35,000 hours of nursing care for terminally ill people in their own homes. Thank you for making this possible; we couldn't continue to provide this care without you.

Our teams are currently busy working hard to secure some even more exclusive venues for next year, so register your interest and we will let you know as soon as places go on sale.
